Alexei Navalny built Russia's largest opposition movement from scratch, weaponizing anti-corruption investigations against the Kremlin. Arrested repeatedly, poisoned with Novichok in 2020, he returned to Russia and died in Arctic penal colony IK-6 in February 2024.
