Born Anna Kushchenko in Volgograd in 1982, she operated as a deep-cover SVR sleeper agent in the United States under the alias Anna Chapman. Arrested in 2010 in a sweeping FBI sting, she was exchanged in a Cold War-style spy swap and returned to Russia a celebrity.
