Russian Connection

Tracing the roots — Canada

Born in Montreal to a family with Russian and Hungarian Jewish roots, Gonzales grew up in the Eastern European immigrant culture of Canada's Jewish community. His theatrical excess and classical rigour draw on a tradition of Jewish entertainers who performed identity as spectacle.
