Ilya Segalovich was a Russian computer scientist and entrepreneur who co-founded Yandex — Russia's largest internet company and search engine — with Arkady Volozh. He served as Yandex's Chief Technology Officer until his death in 2013 and was widely regarded as the technical genius behind the company's product vision.

Born in Nizhny Novgorod in 1964, Segalovich and Volozh built Yandex from a research project into a global technology company that now operates across multiple countries. His death from cancer at age 48 was mourned across Russia's technology community as the loss of one of its founding fathers.
