Biography

Marcos Moshinskyphysicist (father of mex sci) with roots in the USSR

Russian Connection

Tracing the roots — Kyiv

Born in Kyiv (USSR) in 1921 to Jewish parents who emigrated to Mexico, Moshinsky grew up in Mexico's Jewish immigrant community and built a scientific career that brought Mexico international recognition. His Kyiv origins connected him to the Russian-Jewish intellectual tradition that has produced such a disproportionate share of 20th-century science.
